The Syrian Muslim Scholars Association stressed that the statement issued by International Union of Muslim Scholars on the situation in Syria is "politicalized" and affected by foreign political powers.
In response to the Union's statement, the Muslim scholars said that the real role of the scholars aimed at preventing sedition and the bloodshed rather than contributing to spreading division and fighting among the people.
They called upon the scholars of the Nation to stand against those who are conspiring on the religion, security and stability in Syria.
Syria's Muslim scholars, in a statement of which SANA got a copy, said the statement didn't surprise them as it was based on known backgrounds, adding that those who wrote it have to shoulder the responsibility towards every word of it and called upon them to take into account the report of Arab League monitoring mission which documented the terrorist attacks committed against the army, security forces, the citizens, state institutions, infrastructures and oil and gas pipelines.
The statement said if the Union really cares about the Syrian blood and Syria's future as it claimed, it wouldn't address the Syrians to kill each other.
The Muslim scholars added that the words and phrases of the Union's statement reveal the real desire to shed more blood in Syria to satisfy the ambitions of powers such as the USA and Israel.
"It would have been fit had the Union reminded the Syrian people of the importance unity in the face of news broadcast by some satellite channels whose mission has been restricted to stoking sectarian sedition and shedding more innocent blood," the statement added.
The scholars stressed that the Union's calls for insurgence made its members the scholars of real sedition and instigation to kill , adding that the call contradicts the religion's calls to face sedition.
At the end of the statement, the scholars stressed that they and the people of Syria reject sedition, killing and destruction but rather they support the national unity, reforms and dialogue to unite people.
